Summit soccer ties Ralston in Jeffco opener

The Summit High School boys soccer team got a 1-1 tie in its first Jefferson County League contest Friday at Ralston Valley.

Kyle Ahern scored for the Tigers in the first half, and Summit gave up the equalizer in the second.

“The kids were very disappointed, but for a first league game, I look at it as, we’re undefeated in league play at this point,” said coach Peter Shafroth.

Summit has a break from the Jeffco League until Sept. 20, when it hosts Evergreen. It plays at 4 p.m. today against former Metro League foe Skyview at Tiger Field.
