Summit U12 girls in second place after a pair of shutouts

The Summit Under-12 Girls Hockey team is currently in second place in the Mountain States Girls Hockey League. It’s the first year the league has offered an official U12 division. The local squad’s last two wins have both been by shutout, with Summit beating Steamboat 1-0, and winning over Vail 2-0.Behind strong goaltending by Noelle Herrick, along with solid defensive play by Leah Wickham, Cheyenne Wilcox, Melissa Woodring and Michelle Warpecka, Summit’s young ladies have been nearly impossible to score against. On the offensive end of the ice, Anna Dilatush earned her first goal of the season against Steamboat, and scoring stalwarts Valentina Blass, Elle Dice, Casey Farrell, Emily Bilenduke and Hannah Charneski have all scored points to help Summit earn its second-place standing. The team is coached by Jamilee Headley and Bob Blass. The team sponsor is Alpine Anesthesia.
