Summit’s Campbell earns spot in national finals rodeo


Kelley Campbell’s recent performance at the Nebraska state finals rodeo earned her a spot in next week’s National High School Finals Rodeo in Farmington, N.M.

Campbell, who will be a senior at Summit High School this fall, earned a nationals spot in the pole-bending event. This will be her first trip to nationals after four years of high school competition. She hopes to move on to rodeo competition in college.

The National High School Finals is the largest rodeo in the world, with more than 1,500 contestants from 39 states and five Canadian provinces. There is a $125,000 purse and $150,000 in college scholarships up for grabs.
