Summit’s Nate Martin, Brigid Corson set school track records at Liberty Bell Invite

LIBERTY BELL INVITE — TIGERS TRACK AND FIELD, APRIL 22-23

One of the final and largest track and field meets of the regular season, hosted by Heritage High School at Littleton Public School Stadium from April 22-23. The meet drew boy’s teams and 32 girl’s teams from across the state, including 4A Western Slope rivals Battle Mountain High School.

At the meet, two Tigers runners set three new school records: Nate Martin with a 23.06 in the 200m dash and 50.90 in the 400m dash, and Brigid Corson with 15.93 in the 100m hurdles. Sophomore Corson missed the hurdles finals by a 0.11 seconds, or a single place in the prelims standings.

A conference double-header against Delta High School, hosted by Delta at home on April 20. The Tigers lost both games, 14-2 in the first and 12-2 in the second. In game one, the Tigers had 2 hits and 6 errors. In game two, the Tigers had 2 hits and 3 errors.

SUMMIT VS. ENGLEWOOD — TIGERS BASEBALL, APRIL 25

A non-conference regular season game against Englewood High School, played at Englewood on April 25. The Tigers won, 4-1, for their first victory of the season. Andrew Shaw pitched a complete game and recorded 10 strikeouts. Shaw and Sam Hull each had three hits. The team as a whole recorded 10 hits and 1 error.

The victory gives the Tigers a 2-9 overall record (one win came on a forfeit by Jefferson) and a 0-6 record in the 4A Western Slope.

A non-conference game against Conifer High School, hosted by Conifer on April 25. The Tigers lost, 9-18, and are now 1-11 on the season and 1-6 in the 4A Western Slope.
