Team Breck mogul squad continues its strong season

Different mountain, same results. The Team Breckenridge Sports Club’s mogul squad had another strong performance Sunday in Vail. The team picked up eight top-10 finishes, and Bruce Perry Jr. and Kira Wright continued their hot seasons with podium placings.

Perry, a 15-year-old in the J2 category, finished second, narrowly behind Casey Andriga of Winter Park. Perry threw a back layout on his top air and his score of 21.28 was just 0.08 behind Andriga. Perry is the second-ranked 15-year-old in the country for single moguls.

Wright, meanwhile, finished in second place in women’s J1 after throwing two solid airs. It was Wright’s third straight weekend making a podium in her division.

Also hitting the podium were Lindsey Eckhoff, who finished second in the J3 category and Ali Savage (3rd in J1).

Sean Scanlan (fifth in J1), Pierce McCrerey (fifth in J3), Bryce Sawhney (eighth in J3), Alex DeBonville (ninth in J2), Gabe Johnson (10th in J3), Jacob Salter (11th in J2) Stepan Haltmer (15th in J2) also had solid showings for Team Breck,

This week, the squad hosts a Rocky Mountain Division Mogul Tour event at Breckenridge Ski Resort. Both Saturday and Sunday, competitors will take to the course set up on Mach 1 – one of the hardest tracks in the series – for back-to-back single moguls. The competitions start at 10 a.m. both days.
