Tigers finish second in league tourney

FARMER”S KORNER – Summit High School golf finished second Tuesday in a Class 4A Jeffco League tournament at The Meadows in Denver.

The Tigers, who won their last league competition, were knocked out by Ralston Valley by a single stroke. Jason Chrobak led the Tigers with a 79, while Jake Dolack (80), Ethan Wolach (81), Eric Nilsson (85) and Brett Miller (88) also took to the tough course.

Summit finished with a 325, while Conifer took third with a 327.

“I mean, a 325 is our second best finish for the year,” head coach Chris Saunders said. “But it’s going to take 315 or 320 to win.”

The Tigers travel to Indian Tree Golf Club Sept. 5 and The Heritage at Westmoor Sept. 10 to round out the league season.
