Snow expected to break Summit County’s dry spell starting Dec. 9
Summit County has been in a dry period following significant storms around Thanksgiving, but that is expected to end Monday, Dec. 9, into Tuesday, Dec. 10, according to a post by Joel Gratz, founding meteorologist of the app OpenSnow.
On Monday and Tuesday, a storm is expected to deliver a few inches of snow to most mountains, Gratz wrote. He added that temperatures should be cold — in the single digits and teens — both days.
After Monday and Tuesday the week is expected to be dry, with snow potentially returning between Saturday, Dec. 14 and Friday, Dec. 20, according to Gratz.
Specific five-day snow forecasts for Summit’s ski areas include 2 inches at Breckenridge Ski Resort, 2 inches at Copper Mountain Ski Resort, 1 inch at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, 1 inch at Keystone Resort and 1 inch at Loveland Ski Area.
