An auction for seven custom doghouses is set to close at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27. The houses have been on display in Dillon Town Park as part of the annual Playhouse Project charity event. The houses are inspired by everything from a camper van to a school bus, are built for indoor-outdoor use and fit a variety of sizes of dogs or other pets.
The event is hosted by the town of Dillon and presented by Summit Daily News. This year’s builders are Craig Colodny, Linda Matsui and Doug and Betsy Tomlinson; Iron Forest; MW Golden Constructors; New West Partners; PCL Construction; R.A. Nelson; and the Summit High School Careers in Construction Program in partnership with the Summit County Builders Association. The project is also supported by A&A Pet Supply & Feed, Alpine Bank, BGV Gives, the town of Frisco, Grease Monkey and Summit Automotive Group, The Summit Foundation and Theatre SilCo.
All auction proceeds will be donated to Summit Lost Pet Rescue to support its mission finding lost pets in Summit County. The houses will be delivered free of charge if an auction winner is in Summit County. Towing is sponsored by Ski Country Auto Repair and Towing.
