High wind warning issued for parts of Summit County until Feb. 3

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for regions in Colorado including areas in Summit County above 9,000 feet in elevation until Monday, Feb. 3 at 5 a.m. The advisory applies to areas including Breckenridge and the mountains of Summit County.

Regions affected by the advisory should expect 30-45 mph west winds with gusts up to 65 to 80 mph. Localized gusts of up to 85 mph are possible above timberline and in the most wind-prone areas in the foothills, the advisory states. The advisory goes on to recommend securing loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by high wind gusts.
