Obituary: Sandra VanNest

Sandy VanNest passed away on February 15, 2025 on the eve of her 82nd birthday. She grew up in New Jersey, attended Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania and then headed west where she lived in Utah, California and an extended time in Olympia, Washington. In 2001, she joined her sister Susie Magrino and her family in Summit County where she worked for High Country Healthcare and the Town of Frisco before moving to Arvada in 2016.
Sandy will be remembered by all who knew her for adventurous spirit and love of life. In recent years, she was still actively participating with friends on camping trips, rafting excursions and trips around the country and to Costa Rica.
Sandy was predeceased by her beloved son Brian. Her three granddaughters, Cianna, Morgan and Ashley live in the Seattle area. Cianna’s daughter Elliana is Sandy’s first great grandchild.
A Celebration of Life for Sandy will be held in Summit County in early June.
