Summit Historical Society to host vintage baseball game played by 160-year-old rules

The Summit Historical Society will host a vintage baseball game on August 24, according to a news release.

The 5th annual vintage baseball game will take place at the Dillon Town Park with the Summit Concert Band playing at noon followed by the first pitch at 1 p.m., the release states. The Summit Slugger team recruits will be sporting vintage uniforms and playing by 1864 baseball rules.

The event is a free family event open to all members of the community. Last year, more than 400 spectators enjoyed the vintage baseball game, the release states. All proceeds from the game support the Historical Society’s year-round educational and preservation programs.
