Summit ski resorts receive much-needed snow following weekend storm

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area received 4 inches of snow from Friday, Jan. 23, to Saturday, Jan. 24. More snow is expected in Colorado's mountains Wednesday, Jan. 28 through Friday, Jan. 30.

Friday night brought crucial snowfall to Colorado ski resorts in Summit and Grand counties. The weekend storm brought the first major snow to Summit County in over a week.

Breckenridge Ski Resort received the most snowfall among Summit County resorts, waking up to 9 inches on Saturday morning, according to weather forecasting app Open Snow. Keystone Resort and Copper Mountain Resort both received 5 inches, while Arapahoe Basin Ski Area welcomed 4 inches and Loveland Ski Area received 3 inches. Each of the Summit County resorts should expect 2-3 inches over the next 1-5 days, according to Open Snow.

In Grand County, Winter Park Resort received 5 inches Friday night, while Granby Ranch received 2 inches.



Elsewhere in Colorado, Vail Ski Resort received 8 inches overnight and Steamboat Ski Resort welcomed 4 inches. Double-digit snow totals included Beaver Creek Resort with 10 inches and Silverton Mountain Ski Area with 20 inches, according to Open Snow.
