Letter to the editor: I hoped we wouldn’t open Pandora’s box, but we did
Keystone

I have hope that my writing days about the incorporation of Keystone are over and that my schadenfreude will never happen, but thanks to an article written by Robert Tann in the Monday Oct. 2 paper, I had to bring back my sword from my shield.
I see the county cry about a loss of $6 million in revenues from Keystone. OK, where have you been when people were arguing that Keystone revenues would be a washout with county services delivered to Keystone?
The Keystone committee at same time provided projections that with $5 million dollars in tax revenues, they can survive the first five years without any potential tax increases. Who lied?
Now a miracle happened with all present tax increases. All the governments are short on the money. Do you think we are stupid?
Budget your budgets with last year’s numbers and hope that the basket will be full without hurting the citizens you serve.
I sincerely hoped you would never open a Pandora’s box, but it took you only one week to do so.
Shame on all of you.
