Eliza Noe covers Breckenridge, Silverthorne, transportation and environment for the Summit Daily News. She joined the newsroom in March 2022 after serving as the Craig Press’ local government reporter in Moffat County.
Eliza grew up in Amory, Mississippi, a small community in the lower region of Appalachia. She attended the University of Mississippi, where she worked as editor-in-chief at The Daily Mississippian, Ole Miss’s independent student newspaper, and led a staff of journalists and editors to win several regional and national awards. She graduated in May 2021 with a degree in journalism and a minor in art history. After a brief stint in the Atlanta area, Eliza moved across the country to report on issues in the Yampa Valley.
As a journalist, she is passionate about following how taxpayer money is spent, the environment and issues that growing communities are facing, such as housing and child care. When she’s not reporting from her desk in the newsroom, you can usually find her hiking during the warm months or baking in her apartment in the cold months.
