The Town of Dillon installed three automated external defibrillator safety towers in “key high-traffic” public locations, according to a September news release.

The towers are accessible 24/7 and located next to the Dillon Marina launch ramp, at the pavilion behind the Dillon Town Park baseball field and at Marina Park on a path leading to the outdoor covered pavilion.

Public defibrillators are intended to provide “immediate, life-saving support” in the event of sudden cardiac arrest, the release states. Dillon has other defibrillator towers at its amphitheater, town hall and marina office.

Starting Hearts, a nonprofit dedicated to helping sudden cardiac arrest victims, offers classes at its Frisco office on how to use defibrillators and administer CPR. Find more information at StartingHearts.org.
