Dillon receives funding for public electric vehicle chargers

The town of Dillon has received two awards to help fund the installation of four DC fast-chargers for electric vehicles.

A town news release stated the chargers will be at 700 E. Anemone Trail, behind the down’s digital sign, and be the first publicly accessible chargers in Dillon. Xcel Energy approved a rebate of nearly $400,000 for the project in April, and the Colorado Energy Office sent the town a letter of intent to award the project grant money in July.

Residents have expressed interest in publicly accessible chargers, according to a quote from town manager Nathan Johnson in the release. His quote called the installation of these chargers “meaningful action based on that community feedback.”
