Summit Daily News hosted an election forum at Summit School District’s Professional Development Building on Tuesday, Oct. 28 ahead of Election Day, Nov. 4.
Summit County Television general manager Bradley Williamson recorded the forum that was moderated by Summit Daily News editor Andrew Maciejewski. The event featured a statement from Summit County Commissioner Tamara Pogue regarding the Summit Board of County Commissioners’ Ballot Issue 1A, and a question-and answer section for candidates vying for three open seats on the Summit School District Board of Education. Candidates Tom Day, Kimberly Dyer, Jenniffer Gonzalez, Whitney Horner and Jackie Zheleznyak participated in the forum as they seek election to the school board.
Maciejewski said he was solely responsible for coming up with questions, using reader suggestions and past coverage of Summit School District by Summit Daily News. No candidates or outside parties were not allowed to see the questions ahead of the forum.
