Film industry professionals, community members invited to mingle at Summit County Film Commission mixer event
The Summit County Film Commission is hosting a mixer event for filmmakers, producers, creatives, media professionals and community members on June 15 at the Theatre SilCo Performing Arts Center.
The mixer event looks to strengthen Summit County’s production network, particularly as John O’Connor takes over as the county film commissioner.
As commissioner, O’Connor will work to grow Summit County’s reputation as a film-friendly community, attracting production activity to the area. Business owners, hotels, restaurants, or other community members who feel their property would be a good film location are encouraged to attend the event and share their ideas.
A recent press release from the county’s film commission says that the goal of the event is to build momentum for future film opportunities in the region.
“By building strong local partnerships and creating opportunities for collaboration, we strengthen both the film industry and the browser economic impact that production builds to communities across the state,” said Lauren Sloan, the commissioner of the Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media, in the release.
