Frisco has canceled the municipal election scheduled for April 2 since there are no contested races, according to a news release from the town.

The ballot for the election has four candidates for four open positions on the Frisco Town Council, the news release states. All registered Frisco voters have already been sent ballots in accordance with election law, but there is no need to vote or return the ballots since the election is uncontested and has been canceled, according to the release.

The candidates include current town council member Rick Ihnken for mayor, incumbent Andrew Aerenson for Town Council, Martin Allen for Town Council and Dan Kibbie for Town Council. All four candidates are scheduled to begin their terms April 23.

The new members will join Lisa Holenko, Andy Held and Elizabeth Skrzypczak-Adrian, who are currently serving terms on the board.
