Frisco ‘parklets’ returning along Main Street this summer, brief traffic detour expected June 9

The Town of Frisco is bringing back its seasonal parklet program, with more than 30 parklets set to return along Main Street and nearby avenues beginning this week.
Drivers should be aware of a temporary Main Street closure planned for Tuesday, June 9, to accommodate installation. Main Street will be closed between Second Avenue and Fifth Avenue from 6 a.m. to noon while Frisco Public Works crews place the parklets in front of local businesses. A detour will direct traffic onto Granite Street and Galena Street during the closure.
Parklets are public seating platforms that convert curbside parking spaces into community gathering areas. The structures provide additional outdoor seating and help expand the footprint of local businesses during the busy summer months.
The parklet program has been in place for the last six years and was made possible through the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Revitalizing Main Streets grant program, according to a news release from the Town of Frisco.
The parklets will remain in place between Tuesday, June 9, and Tuesday, Oct. 20.
