Get the facts straight about Tiger Run
Re: Get the facts straight on affordable housing (Daily Mail, Aug. 31)Wow, Jennifer! You do absolutely know nothing about Tiger Run R.V. Resorts.• There are currently 69 properties for sale. About 40 are for sale in the cabin section. Of these 40 properties in the cabin section, only 30 or so are actual existing cabins.• Tiger Run Resort is not a year around resort. The maximum allowable stay for anyone is 240 days per year. • Most of the cabins are only 400 square feet. That makes it a rather expensive piece of real estate if one looks at the square foot price and for that reason should not be considered “affordable” housing. • I agree that raising a family in a 400-square-foot cabin and in a place where one can only live 240 days at a stretch would not be desirable. • However, I am of the opinion that your comment was meant to say: “How can you possibly raise a child in a trailer park?”• Tiger Run is a first-class resort where every owner takes great pride in their community. • Tiger Run would be a great place to raise children, if possible. The people are kind and friendly and the place is very safe. My children both spend every summer here since 1997 and both are better persons because of it. I cannot wait to have a go around with my grand children. • So before you throw mud, check your facts first.
