Hear from local candidates directly at Summit Daily News election forum on Monday, Oct. 21, at Colorado Mountain College

Summit Daily News — with support from The Summit Chamber, Summit Alliance of Vacation Rental Managers, Summit County Builders Association and Altitude Realtors — is hosting an election forum featuring local candidates on Monday, Oct. 21, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Colorado Mountain College’s auditorium.

There will be a meet-and-greet with candidates from 5:30 to 6 p.m. with refreshments before the forum kicks off at 6 p.m. in the auditorium.

The forum will feature questions submitted by readers and independently developed by Summit Daily News editor Andrew Maciejewski based on feedback from this year’s Voters Voices survey and key issues in the community. Candidates will not have access to the questions in advance.

The forum features Summit Board of County Commissioners candidates, including Eric Mamula and Allen Bacher for District 1, Tamara Pogue and Bob Cotrrell for District 2 and a statement from Nina Waters, who is uncontested in District 3. Dave Williams and Julie McCluskie will also answer questions as they seek the open seat to represent District 13 in the Colorado House of Representatives. An opponent and proponent of Summit School District’s Ballot Issue 4A will also answer questions related to the district’s $195 million bond proposal.

The discussion on Summit School District’s Ballot Issue 4A will start at 6:05 p.m. Commissioners races will follow at 6:30 p.m. and Colorado House District 13 candidates will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.
