Injured 70-year-old hiker rescued from Mount Flora

A 70-year-old hiker was rescued from Mount Flora near Berthoud Pass on Thursday, Aug. 14, after suffering a knee injury in a fall that left them unable to continue down the trail, according to a Facebook post from Grand County Search and Rescue.
Search and rescue volunteers responded to the call with assistance from Grand County EMS, the Middle Park Medical Response Team and the U.S. Forest Service. Crews reached the hiker just after 1 p.m., provided medical care and used a litter with a wheel attachment to transport them down the rugged trail.
By mid-afternoon, the hiker and their significant other were safely back at the trailhead.
