"Inside the Amazing Race" held in Silverthorne
Back by popular demand, Silverthorne’s Fran and Barry Lazarus, contestants on this spring’s Amazing Race, will share the inside story of the competition to raise funds to bring a digital-mammography system to Summit County. The pair will talk about their experiences when applying for the show and during the competition. They’ll give some of the “behind the screens” stories that were not show on TV – how they missed some obvious clues, for example, and Franc’s bungee jumping and Barry’s digging for dinner. “Inside the Amazing Race” with Fran and Barry Lazarus will take place at 7 p.m. on August 9 at the Silverthorne Pavilion on Route 9 in Silverthorne. This event is being sponsored by the Town of Silverthorne Recreation Center. The cost is a minimum donation of $10 per person. Additional donations are gratefully appreciated. Checks should be made out to the Summit Medical Center Foundation, with the words “mammo. machine” in the note section. For more information, contact Joan Davids at (970) 513-9898 or joandbri@colorado.net . Anyone who cannot attend but wishes to donate can send a check, made out as above, to Joan Davids, P.O. Box 2416, Silverthorne, CO, 80498.
