John Fanning: Never let a serious crisis go to waste
Dillon
Rahm Emanuel, President Obama’s chief of staff said in November, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. It provides the opportunity to do things that were not possible to do before.”
Could it be that the administration is purposely not doing anything to create jobs, put liquidity in the banking system, encourage investment of private capital, and stimulate the business sector? Could it be the “never want a serious crisis to go to waste” is providing the administration the opportunity to tax and spend, grow government as it has never grown before, implement universal health care, and make more people than ever dependent on it?
Who really benefits as the markets lose wealth? Do you? Why doesn’t President Obama come out and reassure the markets and the 90 million people invested in it? The DOW has lost 3,000 points so far on his watch. Why isn’t he a cheerleader for the economy, business and the creation of wealth?
Have you read the $1 trillion so-called stimulus package? I have! I have found nothing in the package that will create any private sector jobs until 2010 at the earliest, and these will be minimal. Have you read the stimulus package of over $400 billion making its way through Congress? I have! It is full of earmarks and pork, both by Republicans and Democrats. Will President Obama keep his word and veto the bill?
I did not vote for President Obama.
