A man died in what law enforcement officials believe was a fall from a balcony in Dillon Saturday night, Aug. 30, according to a Facebook post from the Dillon Keystone Police Department. Officers responded to a call for service near 330 East La Bonte St. in Dillon around 8:12 p.m. Saturday night, the post states, and found an adult male, who was unresponsive and not breathing, in a grassy area. First responders attempted “immediate lifesaving measures,” but the man succumbed to his injuries.

An initial investigation determined the man sustained fatal injuries after falling from an elevated balcony. The circumstances surrounding the fall are currently under investigation, according to the post. The man’s identity will be released by the Summit County Coroner’s Office pending notification to his family.

A Dillon Keystone Police Department spokesperson declined to respond to questions asked by the Summit Daily News on Sunday, citing the ongoing investigation.
