The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory just before 3 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, that includes Summit County.

Effective until 11 a.m. Jan 9, the advisory warns of snow accumulation between 3-9 inches, especially above 9,000 feet of elevation, that could impact travel conditions. The advisory states hazardous conditions will impact commutes Thursday morning and evening. It specifically mentions Breckenridge, the Eisenhower Tunnel and the east slopes of the Southern Gore Range. It also includes other counties like Grand, Clear Creek and Gilpin.

The advisory instructs drivers to slow down, use caution and check for road conditions by calling 511 or going to COTrip.org.
