Colonel Ruth Dewton (US Army ret) passed peacefully this past week in the competent and compassionate care of the Baltimore Veteran’s Administration Hospital amongst the veterans she loved. She served in Vietnam and wherever her beloved Army sent her as well as Walter Reed. Her prized possession hanging proudly in the foyer of her Rocky Mountain home were her jungle boot issue. She lived fiercely with immense gratitude and reflection. She was a remarkable lady and kept her license as a PT till the end helping seniors. Ruth was a resident in both Maryland and Colorado both places hold a warm spot in her heart. They say we die twice. Once when our heart stops functioning and finally when the last person utters our name for the last time. Ruth Dewton is our friend. We will miss her and say her name often.
