David Godzak, a beloved longtime resident of Summit County, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025.

David’s life was defined by his generosity, his love of the mountains, and his deep connection to the Summit County community he called home for so many years. Whether it was lending a helping hand to a neighbor, building relationships with all of his customers, sharing stories around a bonfile or enjoying the beauty of Colorado’s great outdoors, David touched the lives of many with his light heartedness, integrity, kindness and good humor.

He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, clients and all who had the pleasure of getting to know him. His spirit will live on in the mountain valleys, the crisp alpine air, and in the hearts of those who loved him.

A celebration of David’s life will be held in Florida, where he had hoped to retire and enjoy life on the water — a place that reflected his love for peace, sunshine, and the sea.

May he rest in peace among the peaks he loved and the waters he dreamed of calling home.
