Something about the high-end floral design and event planning business caught the attention of the 2025 Best of Summit voters. Maybe it’s the luxury of the design, maybe it’s the 35-plus years of business, or the fact that they can curate up to 100 events a year. Maybe it’s all of those things.
Kayle Burns purchased Petal and Bean in 2014, retaining the name of the original business (which served coffee at one point, hence the ‘Bean’), because brand recognition goes a long way.
“We’ve been around a really long time,” Burns said. “We’re probably the longest-standing florist in Summit County if you count the years of the previous owner.”
Burns also thinks the team of four to six employees puts Petal and Bean a step above the rest as well as their variety in floral styles.
“We can do anything from all white, to more unique, trendy weddings, to wildflower weddings,” Burns said. “We’re very adaptable.”
During peak season between May and October, Petal and Bean’s minimum cost is $3,500. The rest of the year, the minimum is $1,500.
The team also offers planning packages beginning at $3,800. What’s more, Petal and Bean also provides wedding favors, as well as wedding stationery. The team can also assist with small decor rentals to ensure the big day comes together seamlessly.

“I always say I’m a florist that offers wedding planning,” Burns said. “We do a lot of what I call wedding management.”
Of the weddings Petal and Bean did in the summer of 2025, about half also include planning.
Petal and Bean is a bouquet in and of itself. The team is carefully arranged with coordinating services that all pull together beautifully.
Petal and Bean is a florist, but also does planning, small rental coordination, welcome bags, invites and more. All of which is done at a high standard, seeking to exceed expectations, not just meet them.
The Petal and Bean team can make every part of a wedding vision come to life, including the most perfect bouquet, arch displays, table decor, or even wearable pieces like crowns, hair clips or dog collars.
“People like to incorporate skis. I’ve done flowers in ski boots, I’ve done arches with skis,” Burns said. “When you get to bring in those unique mountain elements, we see that quite a bit and it’s pretty fun to do.”
Petal and Bean is also a finalist for best wedding planning and design, and best florist/flower shop.
