Summit School District to host board of education candidate event with plans to open nominations soon

The Summit School District will soon open nominations for four Board of Education seats that are up for election on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

There will be a board candidate event on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 6 p.m. at the district’s Professional Development Building at 152 School Road in Frisco for those interested in becoming a school board member.

Qualified candidates must have been a registered voter of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election. Those who have committed a sexual offense against a child are ineligible.



Those interested must submit written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least 50 eligible electors who are registered to vote in the regular biennial school election.

Nomination petitions may be obtained from Alex Dunning at the Summit School District Central Administration office located at 150 School Road in Frisco between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning Aug. 6.

Petitions should be submitted to Dunning no later than 9 a.m. on Aug. 29. More information will be posted on the District website on Aug. 6.
