Summit School District will close all schools on Tuesday amid extreme winter weather

Editor’s note: This story has been updated with information provided by Summit School District.

All Summit School District schools, including preschools, will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16, amid extreme winter weather.

The district had previously called for a delayed start.

The decision comes amid back-to-back winter storms that have engulfed the county since last week. On Monday, several major roads were closed and government offices and recreation amenities shut down amid high winds, freezing temperatures and double-digit snow accumulation.
