Swan Mountain Road will be fully closed from Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 7 a.m. through Friday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. for shouldering and paving construction work.

The road will remain open from Friday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. until the end of the day Monday, Sept. 22. Construction resumes Tuesday, Sept. 23, but details of any traffic impacts have not yet been released.

Swan Mountain Road is undergoing a full-depth reconstruction that is scheduled to last from July 2025 until October 2025, weather permitting. The entire road will be replaced over the next two to three years, and impacts to traffic and access can be expected throughout this time. The Summit County government issues updates on traffic impacts periodically on its platforms.

To get text message alerts about the project and traffic impacts, text SWANMTN to 888777. Information is also shared on social media: @summitcountygov on Instagram; SummitCountyGov on Facebook.

Updates and more information can be found at Summit County Government’s website at SummitCountyCo.gov/services/public_works/road_bridge/swan_mountain_road.php.
