Colorado’s mountains could see 1-2 feet of snow by midway through next week, OpenSnow says

Colorado’s mountain areas could see between 1 and 2 feet of snow accumulate between Sunday and Wednesday, Nov. 27, according to projections from OpenSnow.com.
The snowfall will likely come in two phases, said OpenSnow founding meteorologist Joel Gratz in a Friday blog post.
The first will last midday Sunday to Monday morning and will favor the northern mountains with a chance for snow in central mountain areas. Gratz predicts snow totals could be around 3-8 inches, though some areas could see 10 or more inches.
The second storm will dominate Tuesday and into Wednesday night, favoring the entire mountain region and delivering as much as 2 feet of snow.
“A wind direction from the west-southwest should bring the deepest totals to the west-central mountains (near and west of Aspen and Crested Butte) as well as the southern mountains,” Gratz wrote. “Temperatures will be warm, and the snow quality will be dense on Tuesday and Wednesday, then cooler air will arrive on Wednesday evening, so the final part of the storm could deliver fluffier snow into Thursday morning.”
