The dog lovers of Summit County have spoken. The combination of convenience and affordability at the A&A Pet Supply and Feed’s dog wash proved to be a winning one since the business was voted Best Dog Wash in the 2023 Best of Summit contest.

“We like to say all you need to bring is the dirty dog,” owner Sarah Terrill said. “We provide everything else: shampoo, towels, blow dryers, combs.”

The self-service wash at A&A is intended to be uncomplicated and accessible. Staff will help every dog owner learn to use the equipment and customize the wash to their dog’s needs.

“We’re here to help you,” Terrill said. “We’re actually going to talk to you and say, ‘Hey, can I help you? Can I get your dog in? How are things going? Is the water temperature OK?”

The massive tub can fit the largest of dogs, and a shelf is available to help make smaller animals feel more comfortable. There’s even a blaster blower and a variety of brushes to help get any pet in pristine condition.

“We make it comfortable for the dogs,” Terrill said. “We make it as easy as possible.”

An hour at the dog wash station is $17 dollars. There is also a frequent wash program for those who stop by often. After five washes, the sixth is free.

While walk-ins can typically be accommodated, Terrill recommends making a reservation.

A&A has been in the area for nearly two decades, opening in 2006 as Elk Mountain Trading Co. In 2012, the business donned a new name and underwent a renovation, but nothing else changed.

The store offers everything from toys to food to outdoor gear and more to fill every pet and pet owner’s needs.

A&A is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The dog wash closes an hour before the store does.
