With the long Labor Day weekend signaling the end of the summer, towns and resorts around Summit County are celebrating with a variety of events.

Breckenridge

Saturday will feature the 38th annual Great Rubber Duck Race in Breckenridge, starting at 11 a.m. Buy a duck to get in the action, or just watch the ducks float by at the Blue River Plaza downtown.

The Great Divide Arts Festival runs Saturday through Monday at Colorado Mountain College north of Breckenridge. Artists from around the country will display their jewelry, paintings, photography and more.



Dillon

The annual Marina Mutt Show, a fundraiser for local nonprofit League for Animals and People of the Summit, is set to take place at the Dillon Marina on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1. The family-friendly event will feature canine competitions including best trick, look-alike contests, an ice-cream eating contest and more, as well as a silent auction.

The Fall Art Fest returns for an eighth year Saturday and Sunday. The fest runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at the intersection of Lake Dillon Drive and Village Place.



STS9, a five-piece instrumental band, will have shows Saturday and Sunday starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Dillon Amphitheater.

The Long Run – Colorado’s Tribute to the Eagles will play Monday at the amphitheater as part of Dillon’s Mountain Music Monday free concert series. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m.

Oktoberfest returns to Keystone on Saturday with polka dancers, Kinderfest and stein hoisting. Keystone will be the first mountain community in Summit County to host Oktoberfest celebrations this fall, according to a news release from the event’s organizers. The event is free, but visitors can prepurchase steins and food passes online.

Copper Mountain

Free live music near the American Eagle lift on Saturday and Sunday at Copper Mountain will be entirely yacht rock. Concerts start at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. both days. Bands include 6202; Still They Ride, a Journey Cover Band; Jane & Matthews; and The Docksiders.

The Playhouse Project, which features public art installations around Copper Mountain, will be up for Labor Day weekend. The event runs through Sept. 7 and features six chairs from Copper’s retired Timberline Express that have been reimagined by artists.
