Wind advisory issued for parts of Colorado including Summit County
The National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder has issued a high wind warning for areas in northeast and north-central Colorado including Summit County until 2 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16.
The advisory states that strong winds up to 75 mph will be possible over portions of the foothills and mountains the afternoon and evening of Sunday, Dec. 15. The highest threat will be along and north of Interstate 70. Gusty winds will also occur over the plains, with gusts from 35-45 mph in the afternoon. Winds near the Wyoming border may gust from 55-60 mph at times, the advisory states.
Gusty winds will diminish by Monday, and a weak storm system is expected to bring light snow to the mountains Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
