Letter to the editor: Music volume, drug use are a concern at Dillon concerts

I would like to complain about the volume and quality of some of the concerts (Mountain Music Mondays free concert series) at the Dillon Amphitheater.

I don’t know why the volume has to be louder than the speakers can handle. On July 5, “Yesterday,” the Beatles tribute, the music content was wonderful but the sound was distorted due to the unnecessary loud volume. The unnecessary loud volume has caused me to partially lose my hearing. I feel sorry for some of the Dillon residents who live near the amphitheater of having to cope with the extremely loud volume.

I have been going to the amphitheater concerts since 2012. What happened to the wonderful Rock tribute concerts such as Michael Jackson? The concerts on June 20, July 14, and July 28 were more like loud noise than music. These concerts are also attracting large crowds of young people vaping drugs who are not residents of Summit County. There are still some wonderful music concerts such as the National Repertory Orchestra and Nacho Men but too few of them.
