I remember when students, teachers and parents worked together; for weeks, to create a warm, safe, fun Halloween carnival in the elementary schools.

The whole family was welcome to attend, volunteer, donate time and treats. Most everybody was in costume. Halloween was a lot of fun for entire families. Now, the schools are closed for two days to avoid anything Halloween. Teachers do not want anything to do with this celebration. This would be a great teaching opportunity of many life lessons.

All I’ve heard from teachers is that their jobs are hard enough without this annoying holiday. So, families will now struggle with days off from preschools to high school. How the world has changed.
