Letter to the editor: We should advocate for saving the Blue Spruce Inn

I understand the old Blue Spruce Inn (recently Frisco Prime) is slated for demolition to make room for a new development.

What a shame! This is truly a historic building, as well documented in Kit Geary’s article on Feb. 12. My family has owned a 120-year-old home on Tenmile Creek since the late 1960s, and we are here often. I remember when the Blue Spruce was the best restaurant in Frisco, when it was down by the marina and after it was moved to its current location. I understand Frisco is growing, but it is sad to see another historic Frisco landmark end up in the landfill.

It would be great if the Frisco Town Council could reach out to the developer and give them an incentive to keep the restaurant, as they plan to have some commercial space including a restaurant in the new development. Or perhaps the town could acquire the building and move it back to its past site near the marina in parking lot B1, which the town owns.

I encourage interested readers to reach out to the town council to request that this historic building be preserved.
