Letter to the editor: You’re not entitled to housing, second homes or even oxygen

Brett Kenridge
Breckenridge

I’m with Lil Kim McGahey on this one — you’re not entitled to affordable housing, second homes, or air. It’s about high time the free ride stops. Oxygen is a valuable and finite resource, and it’s time the socialist welfare state quits the handouts to all the freeloaders who think they deserve a place to live — or air to breathe.

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness — no where in the Constitution or any other founding documents are you guaranteed housing, or oxygen. This is why I’m putting together a consortium of investors to buy the rights to Summit County oxygen. If you want air, it’s about time you got a fourth job. I’m sick and tired of local governments pooling resources to provide services for their constituents, especially those in need. I’m sorry, I thought this was America, not Castro’s Cuba.
