Arapahoe Basin Ski Area is busily preparing for the 2025-26 ski and ride season.
Although the ski area still has a few weeks before the end of its summer operations season, A-Basin is currently revving up snowcats and putting snow guns in place for an eventual opening day.
According to a video post by A-Basin on Friday, Sept. 5, several snowcats are on the prowl, and snow guns have been placed along High Noon. While no snow has yet to be blown across the mountain, the ski area is expected to begin making snow as soon as temperatures allow.
Often the first ski area to open in the state of Colorado, A-Basin will open as soon as possible. Last winter, A-Basin and Keystone were the first ski areas to open in Summit County, hosting shared opening days on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Wolf Creek Ski Area edged out Arapahoe Basin and Keystone to become the first Colorado resort to open for the 2024-25 season, kicking off chairlift operations on Oct. 22, 2024.
