Blue River Watershed Group announces series of events in October
The Blue River Watershed Group is launching a new educational event — the 2025 Water Year Wrap-Up — that is designed to bring together water experts, policymakers and residents.
The event will explore how water policy and a changing climate are shaping life throughout the Blue River watershed. The educational meeting will also serve as a way to look back on the forecasts and information shared at the Colorado River District’s “State of the River” and provide valuable perspectives on the actual available water versus predictions.
The event will feature presentations from Denver Water, a meteorological expert, a water resources engineer, Summit County government and the Blue River Watershed Group.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Summit County Senior and Community Center on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5:30-8 p.m. The community is invited to attend. All attendees are being asked to register at BluerRiverWatershed.org ahead of time.
The Blue River Watershed Group also plans to hots five wildfire ready action planning workshops. Each workshop will be separated by watershed basin with the first taking place for the Lower Blue Basin on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Participants are welcome to join at any time for the in-person workshops. Workshops will work inform community members, stakeholders and business owners about post-wildfire risks and how to mitigate these risks.
