From Thursday, Aug. 21, through Sunday, Aug. 24, Breckenridge Backstage Theatre will perform “The Great Divide.”

The folk-inspired musical brings the spirit of early Colorado to life. Set against the rugged rise of Breckenridge, the workshop production features local musicians and explores the trials of gold mining, long winters and a nation torn apart by the Civil War.

As tensions begin to rise, one truth remains: a house divided against itself cannot stand.

The musical was commissioned by Breck Create as a part of the 2025 Breckenridge International Festival of Arts. The performances on Thursday and Friday will take place at 7 p.m. The weekend performances will begin at 4 p.m.

Tickets are currently available at BackstageTheatre.org.
