Ahead of the new winter season, Colorado Adventure Guides has released dates for its new free “Avy Savvy” backcountry education clinic series.

The clinics are designed to build confidence and skills in the backcountry, as well as learn about snowpack conditions (Avy 101 + Safety of the Snowpack Clinic). All of the clinics are free, and dates can be found on the clinic page or on the Colorado Adventure Guides’ event calendar.

Colorado Adventure Guides is also debuting a introduction to ice climbing course this season. The course is well suited for those looking to build their own solid foundation in ice climbing. Participants will be able progress through a structured curriculum covering gear use, movement, belaying, rappelling and avalanche awareness — all while getting plenty of time on the ice.

The company is expanding its avalanche courses this winter by unveiling an AIRE 1 snowshoe course.
