Colorado Tourism Office selects Keystone for ‘destination blueprint’ program

The town of Keystone was recently awarded as one of the five Colorado destinations to participate in the Colorado Tourism Office’s destination blueprint program.

The program provides an opportunity for destinations across Colorado to join the state tourism office in its effort to advance stewardship and adopt recommendations identified by the Destination Stewardship Strategic Planning Initiative.

Keystone believes that its participation in the program will enhance collaboration between state and local tourism leaders while also creating a shared alignment of priorities to advance tourism. As part of the program, Keystone will participate in a destination assessment, a community visioning effort, an action-planning workshop and 100 hours of consulting to advance priority projects.

The first phase of the program will bring together tourism champions, stakeholders from the public and private sectors as well as residents throughout Keystone to discuss barriers and opportunities throughout the town.

In the second phase of the program, Keystone will receive 100 hours of free consulting from a state tourism expert. The consulting will focus around the findings in the community vision and action-planning workshops.
