Keystone tests snow guns ahead of snowmaking season

Dylan Jenner/Keystone Resort
On Thursday, Sept. 18, Keystone Resort announced that it test fired its snowmaking system ahead of the 2025-26 winter season.
According to Keystone communications director Sarah McLear, temperatures are not quite where they need to be for effective snowmaking, but the resort test fires its guns to make sure all systems are ready to go the moment conditions do allow for snow to be made.
Keystone anticipates to see consistent low temperatures in early October. Keystone will open as soon as possible, but has yet to announce a firm opening day. Last season, Keystone opened on Nov. 2.
