The National Repertory Orchestra’s (NRO) 2025 theme is “Discover,” playing into the adventurous nature of Summit County and nodding to the Native Americans who came through in search of shelter, food and peace.

The “Discover” theme is sprinkled throughout the summer, highlighting concepts and emotions relatable to everyone.

“There is something in every single concert that you’ll recognize, even if you don’t know it by name,” said National Repertory Orchestra Chief Executive Officer Dave DePeters in a recent news release. “The real discovery is the connections you make with the pieces you don’t know.”

The theme “Discover … dreams” kicks off the summer with a June 21 performance featuring Felix Mendelssohn’s acclaimed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” as well as the Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique.

This is followed by the “discover tranquility” themed performance on June 25 that will highlight music that emulates snowfall, summer breeze or rustling of the aspen and pine trees. The evening will include a rare guest vocal performance by award-winning Quebec soprano Carole-Anne Roussel. Other “discover” themes include passion, love, resilience, jubilation, inspiration, spirit, rejuvenation, awe and joy.

Woven into the lineup are the summer’s mainstay ticketed events – the Fourth of July SpectacularTopilow Pops!, a live-to-film rendition of Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark as well as an expanded Champagne Series hosted in private homes in Summit County and beyond.

There’s also a host of free events including the Fourth of July Spectacular in SilverthorneNRO on the LakeFree Family and Kids’ Concert and Community Engagement concerts throughout the county.
