No injuries reported from townhome fire in Silverthorne
Summit Fire & EMS responded to and extinguished a structure fire at a four-unit townhome in Silverthorne on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 2, according to a Facebook post from the group.
Everyone in the building evacuated successfully, including dogs, the post stated. Those involved reported no injuries, but the building sustained “significant” exterior and “some” interior damage.
Bystanders reported the fire around 4:30 p.m., and the incident is under investigation, according to the Summit Fire & EMS post.
Steve Lipsher, the Summit Fire & EMS community resource officer, wrote in an email that the department has not yet determined how many people live in the units or will be affected long term. He added that there were reports of “a couple of dogs” in the building and firefighters accounted for all of them.
Lipsher wrote that Summit Fire & EMS will be conducting a fire investigation, and it is too early to “speculate about cause.”
The Red, White & Blue Fire Protection District, Silverthorne Police and Summit County Sheriff’s Office provided support in the response.
