Kyle McCabe joined Summit Daily in May 2025 to cover public safety, the Dillon town government and the Summit County commissioners. He previously worked as a general assignment reporter at one of Summit Daily’s sister publications, Sky-Hi News in Grand County, writing about public safety, local government, education and more.
A Colorado native, Kyle grew up outside Denver and visited Summit County often, regularly skiing at Copper Mountain. He earned his degree in journalism from Pepperdine University in California in 2022, where he earned several Associated Collegiate Press awards writing for the student publication, the Graphic, and was a scholarship athlete on the track and cross country teams.
Kyle became especially interested in local journalism in college, seeing the important role it plays in keeping a community informed and connected. When he is not reporting or writing, Kyle enjoys running, skiing, hiking, playing volleyball and hanging out with his cat, Pearl.
